The 12th Anniversary Of Dad's Death

When Dad got Leukemia, he put up a fight.
He took chemo but lost his battle 12 years ago tonight.
After months of taking chemotherapy, he died.
He couldn't beat cancer even though he tried.
He died less than two hours before the fourteenth of July.
He was a good provider and that's something I can't deny.
When a person loses a parent, it's always sad.
Twelve years ago, I had to say goodbye to Dad.

Dad's birthday

My grandmother on the afrikaans side had a birthday calender in the bathroom door but she did not have my dad's birthday, only the day he died.

I never even knew when it was no-one ever did, they never made anything of it, I mean his birthday. Only found out the other day.

.They weren't such great buddies I'm sure you'll understand. And he died young he was only 40.

I am sure your father would appreciate this dedication.
