Let it snow …

with apologies to A A Milne*
Jane has a great big padded coat on
Jane has a scarf and furry hat
Jane has warm mitts, thick socks and boots on,
and that (said Jane) is that:
so
I can go out to play
in the snow today:
snowballs and snowman
chase Dad and fall down
lie in the snow, wave arms
to make a ‘snow angel’s wings
which brings
cheeks red and stinging
eyes bright and grinning
til
back in the house
out of the cold,
shed all the layers,
numb fingers thawing,
all over glowing
cosy and happy
and sleepy…

A spade
Playful and innocent. I could never really understand what you mean by "with apologies to ... " closest I can guess is something like "please excuse the plagiarism, (if you can see it)". At least you did give the origin that helps. Honestly. And in this case it all is just very ordinary prose, save perhaps for "to make a ‘snow angel’s wings" So you're quite safe.
Wales must have an incredibly versatile climate as well, apart from such a diverse wildlife. I would like to visit someday.
See you Rhiannon! Tom
