The internet is down

The internet is down.
Ironically I had been planning to post a piece on my blog about how shit my internet provider is, but they've stopped that haven't they.
Is it just me affected, or the whole street, the whole town perhaps? Or maybe it's some Russian mega-hack and that whole world has been brought to a standstill. There's no way of finding out, the internet is down.
I turn on the TV to catch the news and see what's on, but the internet is down so I don't have a TV.
I could write, I always promise myself I'll start writing when I have a spare moment, but the story I'm working on is saved in draft on that writing site, and I have no way to access it, as the internet is down.
I could read. You can always read a book, technology will never take that away. I fire up my kindle. I recently finished the book I've been reading, so I try to download the next in the series, but I can't, because the internet is down.
I could Skype a friend, I think to myself, but of course I can't, the internet is down. I can't even send an email.
I should call out an engineer to fix the internet problem, but I can't, the internet is down and I can't contact anybody. Who would I call? How? The internet is down and the world has gone into hiding.
It's been an hour now. The longest period ever, in my entire life, without the internet. Bar the first twenty-five years, obviously. Maybe it's not just the whole world affected, maybe the world has actually come to an end. It's Armageddon, the end of things.
I could go outside, go for a walk, visit a friend, but what's the point, the internet is down. Why go for a walk if I can't tweet about it? Why bother seeing a friend if there's no place to upload a selfie to.
There is nothing to do. I don't even know what to think, as I don't have the internet to tell me. My world has come to an end.
At least I think it has. There's no way of telling without the internet.

The internet is down. My world has come to an end.
Very convincing, I believe you.

:0) My son's computer broke
:0) My son's computer broke down and mine is too crap he just gets cross as it crashes every few minutes. So he started learning his dad's old bass guitar. Got huge blisters, persevered, made up his own riffs. Asked about our favourite music, songs with great bass guitar in. Ate with us, even came out for a walk! Now computer fixed and he has flown back into the world wide web. It is scary how we have all come to rely on it so much, as you say!
