The Fox and the Elm Tree

The Fox and the Elm Tree
Keeping your almond eye
On that sunny place
Where a friend
And her brother are
Loved and remembered
I'd never been before
But you knew the way
At the tap by the path
You ran close by me
Red haired and bushy tailed
Our eyes met
I held back tears
Whilst filling the watering can
You made me smile
Bringing your life to
Where souls rest
Where camellia grow
Where grief rips and burns
In our garden
Of questions unanswered
At the Elm Tree
We shared memories
A dear mother
A little sister
And me
Memories I'd never shared
In four lonely decades
The tears came
The tears stay
Like the memories
Forever
For Julia and Robert
And for Coral and Sarah
