I’d like to be different
But I can’t
Because I live in a straight- jacket
Preventing me from displaying
Who I want to be
I have a very fine idea
of how I wish to live my life
But I can’t
You say then shelve it
But I can’t
That would be dangerous
There are some joys
Though they are tuned at
A low level
there is a limit to tolerance
To all opportunities
To brainpower
To sanity
To my physical expression
To my social capacities
There are so many limits
Not many green lights
Only red.
I’d like to be the somebody I often
Wish I was
But I can’t
someone slammed on the brakes
they're jammed

Hey, this is really neat. A journey out of control, with a sudden halting at the end, and relief. Richard LP

Many will identify with your poem, Pia, and the feelings which the narrator touches upon. The imagery of the journey works very effectively.

Hi Pia,
I feel exactly the same way Tina does about your
poem, you have touched upon feelings that are very
human in all of us.
So I agree don't take it off and I really hope the
sun is shining for you better today.
Take care of yourself.
Jenny.
