It was so old
I thought it'd crumble.
Fade to ashen grey;
like a relic from our past.
Because maybe it was easier
to let you slip away,
like an achromatic ghost-
fading to the light.
The white scars of the sun
burning bright against your skin.
Warning...
The curve of your back as you left,
arched like a quotation mark.
The indent of stay
etched across your spine;
like a soul scroll.

Hello Beeme,
This is so beautiful and so descriptive. I could
really picture the ghost, it was really haunting.
Thankyou for a great read.
Jenny.

this is really lovely Beeme. One tiny thing - shouldn't it be "an achromatic ghost"?
