on and on till dawn, when oblivious,
the sun radiates from nowhere
to glare on welcome sleep.

troubl-us is a well-invented word.
Getting back to sleep, and quietening the thinking whatever it's about can be so hard once half awake. Recently I had the experience of my mother-in-law recovering from a chest infection and a sudden explosive very unpleasant bark-cough coming through the monitor each time I relaxed and was drifting off. Had to turn the level down a bit in the end to soften it and did sleep then, at last.
Hope you have more peaceful nights soon - and can sleep on through the sunshine a bit maybe.

I like the way the way the stuttering words compliment the troubling thoughts. Hope you manage to bang them on the head.

Read it twice, just to get the right 'feel'...and yes, it's all there, quirky, original and very real.

Probably the wrong choice of word and I hesitated before typing 'quirky' - "original" was more accurate so forgive the tautology, Bee.. I think your poem is exceptional, and thank goodness you can use your talent at this difficult time.
All good wishes to you.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
Very clever this and well thought out. As with all your work, the effort you put into the writing is apparent but also seems natural.

Insomnia
I tried to describe the cancer induced insomnia a couple of weeks ago but I find yours to be even more accurate as the thoughts are rarely completed and as they tend to run together they only complicate the situation adding illusion while depriving us of our sleep. I sleep now when I can and it's very rarely at night. I welcome the afternoon when I can sleep and dream and fight. You continue to be an inspiration.
