A helpfully instructive first verse with 2 new words – will I remember them?? And yes, that does seem a better meaning for the phrase 'Da vinci code', and an interesting contrasting use of shadow in the last verse. Rhiannon

Rhiannon's said everything I was going to! Why on earth did they burn drawings?

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
I love the way you describe the three-dimensional forms by applying stumato, a gradual tonal spectrum to eliminate sharp edges between light and shadow. It describes the beautiful painting above perfectly...the shadowy, candlelight effect of an otherwise gloomy room is captured so well in the painting.
Such a shame that many of the original paintings were burned, imagine all the artists hard work gone up in flames, unimaginable.
I enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing.
Jenny. xx
