Narcissists

Sooner or later, you have to accept it.
There are people who'll do whatever it takes to put you down, triumph over you and prove you wrong. Who'll goad and humiliate you, and best your arguments. Who'll feed your psychosis and paranoia, and turn you to drink and drugs and worse as a way of coping and a way of escaping. Who'll pick your reasoning to pieces in front of you and toss those pieces back in your face. Who'll get you believing what they want you to believe, so that you end up not knowing what to believe. Who'll pick you up like a feather, then drop you like a stone. Who'll crush you and crush you until there's nothing left. Just a husk. A shell. An empty skin.
Sooner or later, you have to accept that you will never prevail over these people. You won't even come close. Retaliation is futile. Compromise is futile. Reconciliation is futile. They will fail. They'll draw you further into the trap. All you'll do is perpetuate the hurt, the frustration, the anger, the confusion. You'll take yourself lower - though never as low as they are. You'll die before you get to there.
The only answer is to turn away. Cut them off. Break ties. Stop feeding the beast.
Only then can you move on.
Only then can you reclaim your life, and live again.

Hello Harry,
Hello Harry,
you know I've come into contact with people like this, not only in a working enviroment, but also during a time when I was in a womens refuge. I feel lucky that I've always had the confidence to either steer clear of these people or stand up to them, depending on the situation.
Now I'm out of the rat race and thankfully retired, life is so much easier. I have found that being able to trust my own instincts is so important and has got me thankfully where I am today.
I hope your instincts keep you safe and away from those that want to put you down.
Always remember no matter what, you're special.
Jenny.

It is very sad
It is very sad. Really such people are not evil they just think differently, it must be terrible for them too can you imagine? Such personality disorders should have understanding and not condemnation, and many people can be treated helped and even cured by psychologists.
