"Brighter Than The Noon Day Sun."

I remember when I was going to night class many years ago and it was dark and very foggy. I didn't get very far, when the first bus arrived, the driver could not see, where he was going. He ended the service while I was on the bus. I got off in between stops and in the gloom made my way back home. I assume I was the only one on the streets. There were no mobile phones then, nor internet, so i would have been the only one that would have turned up, if I was able to get the two bus rides there. It was a very scary experience.
Another time, when I was young, it was SO windy that I had to hold on to the lampost, so that I was not blown into the street. That was a very scary experience.
I remember driving back from Blackpool in my really tiny mini car. There was a rain storm and Paul and I arrived on a deep, long and wide pond in the road! I wanted to turn around, but there was no going back! We could see big cars ahead of us, stuck in the very deep water were the road was. Paul with his words of wisdom said, "You will be ok, just drive slowly and you will be fine." That is what I did, passing all the other big cars, through the thunder and lightening. That was a scary moment, a very bad experience.
Last week, we had lots of rain, that caused floods across Britian. I remember many years ago, when i worked 17 miles away from home, there were times early in the morning, when the sun was very bright in the sky, it was low down, and none of us on the busy motorway could not see anything, not the car in front nor the road, even if you used your indicator or breaks. It was a Very scary experience.
This week, near my home, the superstore where I have shopped many times, as I turned the corner, the sun at 5pm was blinding, I knew I had to turn left into the side road, that would lead me into the car park, but I was unable to see anything, I did not know when to turn left! It was a very scary experience, I had to guess, and i guessed right.
Then a few days after that, at the same time 5pm I was on my way to see my Mum, and the sun was blinding again, I had to do my best to keep up to the car in front of me. All of us cars were in the same boat, I remember thinking, I should have put sunglasses in my car, and keep them there, for times like this.
I don't know what I thought was worse, dense fog at night, strong winds, floods or the blinding sun while driving, but not to be able to see while driving, put that at the top!

Extreme weather can provide
Extreme weather can provide us with scary moments like the ones you had - I'm glad you survived them all and I agree, sunglasses in the glove box would be a good thing to have.
