language is imperfect

art is a conduit for emotion

and almost all art is limited by medium

even film

constrained by its screen

a tiny window to peep through

and a hollow sound

without depth

nothing
can fully express the feelings

of standing in the rain

watching birds in the trees

the smell of lavender on the breeze

and the sound of the water...

 

maybe art should just speak for itself

not try to fit a creators emotions

maybe

sometimes

simply saying nothing

eventually

says everything

Sometimes it feels we have, indeed, lost the art of simply saying nothing. This was a lovely piece to read.

One slight typo - I think you mean 'constrained' in the fifth line?

We as individuals feel, hear and see things so differently, which is the way art should be recognized....in our own pensive thoughts.

There is that understanding in your poem.

Art can only remind and draw attention to the detail and beauty to notice, it can't replicate that beauty, but can serve in those ways of sharpening our observing, so that we more appreciate things we may have ignored or passsed by with hardly a glance. Rhiannon
