When All Seems Lost

Softly pause...just for a moment,
then reach out with enthusiasm;
even though sceptical hidden
energy may surface doubts
unseen –
those gnawing shadows of gloom,
devouring creativity. Candlelight
most mysterious flickers inspiration
when eagerness declines.
Continue encouraged – get carried
away; like melodious song of the
nightingale that ignores unease,
having its own reasons to be heard,
with no dispiriting imaginings.
Let gentle reassurance reject that
which is stressful to personal
awareness, pen flows with ease –
leisure envisions breathing in
murmurs of grace:
like gentle flit of dragonfly wings
flourishing on canvas, settling like
faerie folk, colours on pallet create
summer blooms – brush strokes that
thrive, just waiting for a story when
all seems lost.

Thank you for writing and
Thank you for writing and sharing this, Jenny. Like you say, we all get that feeling and that hurdle at times don't we? I'm still fighting my way out of a big one - so I was very glad to find my way back here and see things thriving and as colourful as always. ABCTales forever!
This is a beautiful and delicate piece, aside from the subject matter which really resonated, I love how you've used nature in this. Very calming, just the deep breath I needed. Have a lovely week. :)

encouragement
Sometimes all we need is just a little encouragement "Let gentle reassurance reject that which is stressful to personal awareness",
I am pleased with the new styles and ideas you have lately been experimenting with Jenny.
All the best & keep well & Nolan

I hadn't got what you were
I hadn't got what you were handling in this one on first reading it, but the comments discussion show me! We enjoy managing to get our feelings on to paper, but sometimes the subject matter of our thoughts is a bit unlcear, and it is nice when a thought becomes more clear, and clear enough to capture it in writing!
I liked the idea of such sometimes being like dragonfly wings caught! Rhiannon

I think of writer's block
I think of writer's block being like a desert peopled with shadows, but your words here are like rain, enabling millions of flowers to spring up from dry sand

Reassurance
I think every writer finds reassurance in the knowledge that they aren't the only ones who suffer from writer's block. Your words of self-reassurance are certainly reassuring to me. So thank you for that Jenny.

A lack of motivation and/or inspiration comes to us all in the end. Writing at sites like this makes such a difference as you encounter people that take an interest and that makes all the difference.
Reassuring and penned with empathy.
Very nicely done, Jenny.
