Sodality

Malone's moll packs a pistol
Bristol fashion, in her bra
far from decorous
in the porous night,
where the dreams fall
through into sleep-distorted
screenplays for black-and-white
noiry-tales about lost shoes
and spun-gold
and hair-ladders
to the moon and sixpence,
happy ever afters and
no-one's just desserts
- read the books
and feel the width
of all the quality
street's fair vanity
in costume drama
schooled tomfoolery -
this is art not poetry, brothers.

I really like it. Full of imagery and a story that falls between the lines as much as sits on them.

A nice slice of noir
But packing a pistol into a bra sounds very uncomfortable.

tough times
Don't know about a 9mm but I knew a girl who kept her packet of cigs in her bra and a box matches.
Times are tough we're tougher -Tom

Wow, this brims with attitude
Wow, this brims with attitude and sharp noir energy.
Loved the line “hair-ladders to the moon and sixpence” — it slinks between fairytale and film with wild confidence.
That closing line? A mic drop. Art, indeed.
