Come With Me
By Paul McCann
Come with me where the sky is so blue
with the sound of the ocean calling to you .
The music of the water has no spoken word
its sings to the wind like a lonely seabird .
Its strange weather for Autumn,
leaves on the trees aren’t falling
Just drifting away on a Autumn day ,
close to the shore where palm trees sway .
Come with me where the grass is so green ,
with the rolling hills and the valleys in between
there in the stream the trout swim by
and buttercups are glowing for the butterfly .
.
Strange weather for Winter time
It should freezing not in sunshine .
Riding over the hills and its winter again
with the wild flowers dancing in the rain .
Come with me where no one ever goes ,
down by the lake , that for a while has froze
and all the bare trees are covered in snow
and the little robin redbreasts have no where to go .
Strange weather for a summer’s day,
seems Mother nature has lost her way
Walking along a path as the cold wind blows ,
six miles to go with chilblains on my toes .
Come with me where the leaves have fallen down
and the colours turn from gold into a crispy brown
as the wind scoops them up and blows them around
from the sidewalks to the streets and into town .
Strange weather for a spring day
and the colours are all blowing my way ,
Driving in the car in the Autumn of the year
In the morning mist the dewdrops just disappear .
Come to me my dear .
