Signs of spring,
beauty emerging,
a voice to sing,
a cosy home
a friendly friend,
not alone,
pleasant music surging
a good book begun
then an absorbing end,
a film well acted
sufficient money
love shown,
good food
(and chocolate and honey!)
and so much more …
– will cheer

but fear,
and pain
disappointment
insinuate, remain
at present,
so sure hope
can help us cope
endure
and still be cheered by
 
signs of spring … …
