There's magic to be had everywhere

it can travel invisibly through the air,

high up in those towering mountains

to depths of deepest wide blue oceans,

 

you cannot see or even touch

just know it's inside all of us,

I place conch shell to my ear

hear wild ocean oh so clear,

 

when flush, reddish flames they grow

flicker by softened candle lights glow,

it reminds me of mystical belly dance

the kind that puts males in a trance.

 

So with contentment I begin to write

darkness takes me through the night,

words of art weave enchanting verse

putting pen to paper now disbursed.

we can listen to the wind in a shell, but it's ourselves we hear.

reads like a spell chanted in flickering firelight, then at the end you have conjured your poem, your magical thoughts made visible :0)

I like the idea of flames being like a belly dance. Maybe belly dance moves are inspired by flames

You know Di you could be right about the flames of a fire inspiring the belly dance...I certainly like the idea.

Magical. I can tell by the this piece that your eyes are always open to the hidden forces Jennifer and you're able to appreciate them. With contentment I begin to write' it really is the best hobby making magic from words, all you need is a pen.
