Into the world the Sandman, Autumn, creeps
and lulls the gentle child of Earth to sleep,
blowing his twinkling stardust in her eyes;
making her dream of starry Autumn skies,
then placing his soft kisses on her head;
his gently falling leaves of gold and red,
with Autumn breeze he whispers in her ear,
“Sleep well and, when you wake, Spring will be here”.
