Rewind the whispers
Lay your head on my shoulder
Let the leaves play in the wind
Counting my blessings
Your eyes on the lilacs
Your brow furrowed
The soil black and rich
You dig up the cadence
yet another hymn
of resourceful belief
Leave your fingertips
on the brittle surface
Diving into the blue sky and clouds
rush of cold water in the basin
In a daydream
you are in robes
with sunbeams in your hair
ready for the revels
Locked sighs
tearing away the fabric
Butterfly wings
Dust of chalk cliffs
you breathe deep
while I catch mine
Why believe in fate
when you are on my doorstep

I have to say, Pia, the penultimate stanza took me somewhat by surprise.
A wistful enigmatic poem. This stanza especially stands out for me:-
"The soil black and rich
You dig up the cadence..."

Dear Pia,
I absolutely love this poem, it's so spiritual and
perfect, I love the lines:-
Diving into the blue sky and clouds
rush of cold water in the basin
You are definitely writing something so positive
here. Infact I've read it a couple of times, I think
all the lines are brilliant, they flow so well.
Thankyou for a perfect read.
Jenny.
