I took a walk in the countryside yesterday
and I could smell your skin
in the pine trees.
I swear I saw your tan lines
in the tyre tracks
of a wheat field.
So strange to think that we once shared
a pink grapefruit, sprinkled
with the sugar of sunlight.

Lovely use of metaphors in this poem Mark,
Sharing a pink grapefruit, sprinkled with the sugar of sunlight.
This is so romantic and a pleasure to read.
Jenny.

This deceptively simple
poem is deep and moving. Not a word wasted. That's why it's today's Facebook and Twitter Pick of the Day: why not share or retweet if you like it too?
