Easter is rebirth

All things may grow again,

Irrepressible nature,

Cannot be held down.

 

There is more living than dying,

The defeat of winter is to be overcome,

By irrepressible growth,

Real unstoppable growth.

 

Did Christ really come to save us?

Can we really be forgiven for all the crimes petty and major,

which we have done during our selfish lives?

 

All can be forgiven,

For every day is a new day,

And we are all in this struggle together.

No one is perfect,

But we all need each other.

 

Construction is so much better than demolition!

An end to wars and persecution,

An end to selfish competition,

The start of something better,

Working together to help our fellow men and women,

a real home for everyone,

a real place where all can grow!

Thanks Drew. It is great to be chosen, that must be a first for me! This one came together in the run up to Easter as I considered what this time of replenishment really means, or should mean. If it can help to encourage us to work together for a better, kinder world then it will have done some good.

Thanks Marandina. I am glad you liked it. I tried to sum up what Easter could and should be, and always is to a degree! Somehow as the years go by too rapidly, and we see so many parts of the world falling apart in so many ways, I feel we all need a sense of renewal and rebirth, and a better sense of direction, particularly collectively.

Thanks Di, Happy Easter to you too. I know this one is perhaps a lttle serious for an Alfred Muggins piece, but I find I am almost turning into him, and he does indeed have a serious side, and cares deeply about far too many things!

Thanks Insert, I am pleased you appreciated the poem. I was feeling thoughts about Easter and Spring, and about Easter messages for the world in the couple of weeks before Easter so I tried to work out and express what Easter was meaning for me. I am pleased that others could feel or agree with the feelings in my head!

I am saying I suppose that we do move on or forward with every day, because every day is a new day. Past faults, mistakes or successes don't have to hold us back. we can move forward with a fresh approach or choose how we go forward.

We all struggle with life in one way or another, and we all are imperfect in the way we approach and make use of our lives. So we could all do with help or support as we go through our lives. We are all, in a sense in the same boat, and have similar struggles, so it makes sense to support each other.

I am not saying we will support each other, or that we will all strive for perfection, or that we will all be useful citizens working together, but it would make sense if we did help each other through life.

My easter message is I suppose to encourage peole to be supportive of each other. My last verse suggests some ways of making the world a better place!

Not everyone will agree how the world or states or communities should be run. There are bound to be disagreements. But if we tolerate and benefit each other it should help to make our struggles easier!

I have written a counterpoem/prayer based on this Easter poem, but expressing how Putin's intervention/ invasion of Ukraine has affected Easter and the future for the people of Ukraine, and of Russia, in which i consider these issues. Some may feel I am likely to contradict myself, but I am merely expressing feelings and thoughts on these matters. I will post that a bit later!
