two from Charles, one from his mother

and some beautifully created cards, very personal.

Thank you, Nolan. Old enough for your body to have matured I suppose, though that might be a bit young for the responisibilties of marriage and parenthood. 

This gran didn't marry young, probably because of WW2, and had a difficult life, but has had time to put it behind her and trust now and wait and enjoy love not only of family, but of a caring Home. Rhiannon

What an amazing age to reach. I'm sure your Mother in law had a wonderful 106 birthday celebration. She sounds like such a positive lady.

It's nice when you can remember her in a poem. Lovely sentiments Rhiannon.

Thank you, Jenny. Sometimes it's not clear if she is aware of what is going on, and her speech often doesn't show clearly, but she got involved with the cards and enjoyed the cake and candles and firework, and eveyone singing 'Happy BIrthday' with her grandson playing the violin! Rhiannon

Gosh, your mother in law must be one of the longest lived people in Wales, do you think? It is great you found such a wonderful care home, for her to be content and able to relax, and you all not to worry. And as you say, her Birthday cards must all be specially made, there cannot be many sold for 106 years old! She will be treasured by everyone around her

Thank you, Di. We are not quite in Wales! and she was bery much a Birmingham lass, and London dweller! Yes, a very caring home, and she is valued as a very 'wanting to oblige' patient. Its nice to see a happy staff, and residents. Rhiannon

Yes not to be picked off the shelf at the PnA Stationers! All I can think of pick a tenth birthday card and add a 6 with a felt pen! Although I feel the occasion calls for a special personal handmade card!

Some friend wife kiddies etc took me out to the Spur restaurant once for my birthday. They specialize in kids parties. But played a joked on me the waiters and staff all running around with funny hats and sparklers singing snaking through the tables all stopping by us.

"Whose the superman, whose the birthday boy! )1n3, Two Three ... Ten Blow! Hip-Hip Hurray! I was actually 40 or something. The little girls enjoyed it tremendously

Thank you, Tom. We all enjoy being young at heart, especially on birthdays!

The little great-grandchildren enjoyed blowing out the cake candles, which their great gran couldn't really do now! and enjoyed the firework put on the cake. The Activities' lady always does things for them too, and the old people enjoy having them around and enjoy the same things. There was a frog that was spitting out soap bubbles!. There was a big white electronic screen, the 6 year-old could draw patterns on with her hands. The Activity Lady said these old people haven't grown up with electronics, and don't easily take to some of the gadgets made for them.

The lady is so much more content in heart and spirit now than when she was younger. We thank God. Rhiannon
