To eat fish and chips
was rather too dull
for a sophisticated
and gourmet seagull.

He had to think hard
but had time to mull
flying to the Midlands
from the port of Hull.
 
The storm subsided
and there was a lull
so an idea entered
the bird's thick skull.
 
There were people
just outside Solihull
holding icecreams
he could easily cull/.

I'm an American, and I must say I've occasionally enjoyed eating fish and chips. It was delicious. That was decades ago.

It is a traditional takeaway English dish, usually bought from shops called 'chippies', which specialise in deep-fried fish and chips. Sometimes, customers add vinegar or tomato sauce to their chips.

Eesh...seagulls everywhere down here, Luigi. And they don't stand on ceremony if there is food to pilfer. I even have two resident gulls plus their sole offspring that live on my garage roof.

Funny, you come to realise how territorial they are in that they tend to stay in the same area.

You have them down to a tee. A poem that brought a smile to my face.

No seagulls here, but plenty of pigeons on the roof and magpies in the garden.
