Spacecraft Earth!

We're riding in the universe
upon our Spacecraft Earth,
by stable star plough steady course,
travelling round, not shooting forth
in elliptical orbit, so temperature suitable,
and day length quite reasonable
for work to get done, and time to sleep.
The size of our planet means it's able to keep
an atmosphere (and of gaseous proportions so good) –
we breathe, but don't burn, and it grows us our food
and protects from the damaging rays out there
but its pressure not too heavy for us to bear.
What a wonderful craft we have for our ride
with beautiful animals, plants at our side
and everything needed for life supplied!

Great poem Rhiannon,
Great poem Rhiannon,
yes! There's no better place than our beautidul earth and we should take care of our home. You summed up what I believe is important to remember.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.

Those last 3 lines sum it up.
Those last 3 lines sum it up. We should be incredibly grateful for what we have.
Very nicely done, Rhiannon.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I have often thought of the earth as an open spacecraft. It's certainly a Rolls Royce device but can go wrong so easily with global warming. If we don't look after it I don't think we have any options. The moon for instance is so inhospitable and yet they talk of a moon base: the temperatures alone are formidable, either way below freezing or burning up to ridicuous degrees. I don't think we could live anywhere else.

I like your poem!
I like your poem a lot Rhiannon, to me it proves you are still open-minded, indeed, and bound by logic! Adventurous and playful, imaginative.
At (y/our) age hey?
Very Good! Tom
