Dear diary...

Dealing with hostility, constant

blight that feeds off me – so evasive

still waiting for evaluation, when will

answers be given?

 

Mortality preoccupies incessantly

with each resolute breath, cradled

in my duvet...wrapped in dreams

where night carries me.

 

Darkness passes way too fast, not

in great hurry to meet the dawn,

being stolen from my visions as

light steals in.

 

Instead of trying to retrace reverie,

I'm caught between days and nights

of torment – with quiet breaks like

calm before a raging storm.

Dear Jenny, It is difficult to know you are going through this medical unknown, waiting for results and a treatment plan you need. Your poem is beautiful, painful and touching, and as it has been said many times before, you are a true poet. Your poetry speaks to all.

I pray, as everyone here does, that you will have the answers and help you need very soon. I Hope you have a restful night and comforting dreams my friend. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Penny,

It's very kind of you to share your lovely thoughts, they mean a lot, especially this week as I've not been doing very well. Just trying to get through each day. But at least I've got a doctor's appointment on Thursday. Hopefully he will give me treatment, I would hate to think I've still got to go through more tests as the coughing has become wretching and leaves me in tears.

Your prayers are very comforting and I'm grateful to you for letting me know.

Thank You for saying about your appointment, Jenny. Am so sorry you are having a bad week, I guess it is the hot weather you're having? Really Hoping you get your new treatment on Thursday, please don't worry about replying to this, as you're so tired!

It's always lovely to hear from you Di. Many thanks. By the way it's going to be even hotter next week, which I'm definitey not looking forward to, especially with all the hospital appointments I have coming up. Phew!

What you are going through is miserable, scary, I pray it passes you, unharmed. Venting is healthy, your experience your illness is your the share or keep, as you see fit. It takes great courage to share such pain, so wish you did not have to through it, please take comfort in knowing people care, and you are not alone. Beautiful raw poem, Ray

Hi Ray,

it's not good news I'm sad to say. I have adenocarcinoma cancer which requires two years of Chemotherapy, not something I'm looking forward to at all. Like you said it's very scary because the amount of side effects that are a nightmare, even getting one leaves me with cold shivers.

I find writing things down does help in someway to collect my thoughts. I'm glad the poem worked for you and thank you for letting me know.

Hi Jenny, you've been in my thoughts over the past few weeks. I haven't felt much like writing or even reading, busy at work and lots of change at home - nothing to complain about though.

Your poem brings home the process you are currently going through; the uncertainty and fear, the joy of life stolen for now but I really hope you can find some glimmers of relief and that you are able to manage your physical symptoms without too much pain. Thinking of you and sending a big hug xxx

Bless you Jane,

I haven't felt like writing either, although I have stuff running around in my head. My health isn't looking good having been told I have Adenocacinoma Cancer and will need two years of Chemotherapy. So the treatment has a long list of bad side effects which I'm dreading getting. It all frightens me to death and is still no cure, just helping me to feel more comfortable...well I hope so anyway.

I'm very appreciative of your kind words and thoughts and your hug was greatly treasured.
