Sea-Salt

Why is the sea blue?
They say it has to do
with reflection—or other—
but I think
there’s more to uncover.
So, if that’s true…
why is the sea so melancholy-blue?
It weeps like dawn-kissed grass in dew.
Hasn’t its stillness moved you, too?
Let your fingers flutter
in the sea’s low shudder.
Let your skin cool—
isn’t all of life
a flowing pool?
It knots itself in our bones.
We wear sorrow
like weathered wool.
Years like worn floorboards—
grief, yes: tides-full.
So—
let it cool you.
Slow your pulse.
This deep water does soothe—
blends salt-tears with sea-salt.

I like that play on words
I like that play on words with 'blue' in the first line. Fits with what the poem is really about. Some nice images. It's where life starts, after all.

This is beautiful Jessi, you
This is beautiful Jessi, you've combined the calming nature of the sea with the salty sadness and how it ebbs and flows. It does soothe but you can't help but stare out and ruminate on all things lost.

A well-deserved golden
A well-deserved golden cherries; I liked the use of imagery and how you use the central metaphor of the blue sea to convey its healing.
