I imagine you sitting alone on a rock on a deserted seashore as you write this. There's nothing there except the nature that your words describe so beautifully.

I particularly liked lavender sheets which brought to mind those grey clouds illuminated by the sun at the day's end.

it was like gazing at a water colour on canvas. I could imagine you capturing every vision which you've painted beautifully with words.

It sounds so calming where you live Di, and to have that pleasure all year round must be so inspiring.

Yes! I wondered about them sailing out of the harbour as it got dark, rather than in. Though perhaps they were going out to look at the stars? That must be a great way to see stars, out in the sea, mustn't it? And sometimes here, there are Nothern Lights, but I have not seen them more than a sort of hint of colour in the sky. Imagine being in a boat looking at the Northern Lights! It is a kind of rich, not money rich, seeing trees and green hills every day. Even if I were clever enough, I wouldn't like to be someone only able to see their next deal, which I suppose is how it must feel, to be a successful banker, do you think? Like Oscar Wilde says, "knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing". You are much better of as how you are, using your wonderful gift with words to be a poet, Nolan!

I read this sometime ago in a moment of escape when I was busy ....

I just read it again in moments of peace & quite looking for some inspiration in my story line on a chapter I was stuck on..... thanks for the inspiration & escape*

You not only are a brilliant poet but an artist too. Are you a painter? Reading your minimalist poem I immediately see a canvas, a beautiful sea landscape   With the rising moon, last seagulls and a far pink coast touched by a sinking sun.....
