Night Storm

Crash! of thunder –
clash! of cymbals in the sky;
lightening silent –
wait and wonder –
just a rumble, grumble
further far away;
rain bursts down battering, splashing
cooling soothing
heat-scorched,
parched and thirsty land.

They're so spectacular aren't they Rhiannon! There hasn't been anything here yet, but I know you're on the other side of the country to me. Did you have a stormy night?

Dramatic and evocative, Rhiannon.
Thunderstorms forecast here but nothing yet. I am looking forward to cooler days ahead.
Your poem paints pictures. Very nicely done.

You picture the storm so well
You picture the storm so well. I was woken last night by 'clash of cymbals'. Waiting for the flash and then counting to see how far away the storm was. Then the torrential rain. This morning a bone dry garden with not a sign of the rain.
Thanks for describing my experiences so well.

Dear Rhiannon,
Dear Rhiannon,
you summed up last night for me in your poem. Funnily enough every word reminded me of the forest scene in Bambi when the storm comes...very dramatic and visual, as is your poem.
We had heat lightening going on from about 2am and then thunder came followed by a storm, it set car alarms off in our street and I just couldn't get back to sleep. My partner slept through the whole experience he's such a heavy sleeper.
I can't wait for Autumn, just hate this weather so much, it leaves me breathless.
Hope you're well and sleeping okay.
Jenny.

also love storms
also love storms
I also love storms, that demonstration of incredible power unleashed and terrific forces of nature, even better when followed by a rainbow. Silence. Peace. Beauty. Love.
Frivoulous a storm is like a woman. Unpredictable. Terrible.
A bit older now perhaps prefer stay indoors! I ike your poem a lot it is very descriptive.
All the best Rhiannon & Nolan

Excellent! Although
Excellent! Although I find it a bit funny to imagine thunder like cymbals crashing! Allways thought of thunder as much higher pitched. Who said everything must make sense hey?
Night Storm, that could be terribly fearful terror eg alone in an empty house they say. No furniture curtains nothing. Just blinding bright light flashes and roaring thunders.
