A Moment To Ponder

Dear diary...
When storm pledges its oath,
severe billowing impressions
then react in my imagination;
remote tranquil distant hills
keeping their ancient secrets.
Spry and pure spirit of torrent,
fly across blessings bestowed;
let mind glide freely – confer
with weeping clouds.
Will elements produce arched
rainbow...offer up sun drenched
hazy colours? Maybe even lead
to secret meadow beyond, as if
swiftly entering an alternative
existence!
I wonder if faeries of earth, air,
sun and water reside there,
those finely thread tales like
gossamer webs, billowing
deluge upon thirsty land.
But outburst was over before it
began, we'd flown with clouds,
no longer shrouding reality,
as road ahead became clear.
Driving down the M4
Motorway towards London
on Wednesday 27th August
2025, we hit torrential rain
and clouds so low, we could
hardly see the road or vehicle
in front of us. It was as if we
were flying through clouds,
all so strange and the
Inspiration for this poem.

I'd almost forgotten what
I'd almost forgotten what rain was like Jenny. A change in the way does indeed give you a new perspective and refreshes you in many ways; a reminder that nature is always in charge. 'Billowing deluge upon this thirsty land', the sort of clouds which are full of power and how grateful the plants appear after the deluge.
