The wonderful wild bells!

Dim hidden copses
pooled with bluebells,
each frail but of deep hue,
glowing
bells gently waving,
softly bowing,
(so unlike the Spanish
burly, sturdy, stand-up stiff and straight
garden ones – sad when they interbreed)
and sometimes mixed with milky white wood anemones,
or dazzling white stitchwort stars,
or warm red campion..

Hi Rhiannon,
This is a great tribute of a poem to one of my favourite wild flowers. The bluebell has so much charm.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.

Great Nature description,
Great Nature description, Rhiannon. I have two English bluebells in my courtyard garden which I transplanted last year from the wilds of Watery Lane in Exmouth so next year I shall have a clump. Three cheers for wildflowers!

It is sad that they interbred, the English ones being so much more delicate. A lovely tribute to a beautiful sight. We are so lucky if we can get out and see these gems in the natural world because they are free and better than man-made entertainment. 'pooled with bluebells' beautifully done.
