"Crimson Morning"

Sunrise appears
vivid pink
red-gold ribbons
amid blue light
Awaking diurnal creatures
Lifting blossom heads
towards sunlight
while bird songs fill the air
Possibilities sparkle
in shafts of buttercup yellow
through window glass
adventure lures the heart
and the day’s canvas
Awaits

I loved this, delicately expressed. I could instantly see the picture in my mind's eye.
Really cheering on a dull, wet, miserable day when it hardly seems to have got light all day.

This is beautiful, Penny. You
This is beautiful, Penny. You capture the optimism of a new day, even if nothing to speak of happens, the colours of the sky, the buzz of animals are full of promise. The day's canvas, an opportunity to create something.

This is great. A lot like
This is great. A lot like what I'm thinking when I am staring at the sky waiting for a ship to come in for mooring and when it does the spell is broken and I have to concentrate on the job that requires a lot of man power and coordination and concentration so the mooring lines don't snap back or so no one gets his fingers caught in the lines. This reminds me of the peaceful observational simply taking it all in moment before the mooring.
