On This Peaceful Day

Essence of nature on my mind,

awoken by untamed yearnings;

to see coolness of refreshing,

clear running stream flowing

over smoothness of stones and

glossy rocks, rippling, gurgling,

pure water vital...sprightly like

nymphs shimmering.

 

I'll watch green leaves dancing,

flickering as sun's filtering with

sparkling effervescence, while

hearing birds chirping a greeting

on this sunny day.

 

Walking along a trail of woody

fragrance in gentle cool breeze.

I will not let this vision go, but

secure it in a poem with symbol:

LOVE. Bees and butterflies will

take flight, blissfully unaware...

far too busy to notice radiance

on such a peaceful day.

Love this little poetic meditation Jenny, thank you for capturing and sharing it here.

I hope it's a bit cooler where you live now, and that you manage to get out into your garden at least, and maybe in a while for a walk.

Hi insert,

glad you liked this little poem, I wrote it while sitting in the garden. It sure is a lot cooler thank goodness. I still find it hard to walk around much though, even walking around the garden leaves me out of breath and coughing, but I'm still smiling, so it's not all too bad.

I'm grateful when I get a good night's sleep, but still having bad nights. Still waiting for my test results.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane Jennifer, when I was alongside a river and then in a forest and back to the river in the mountains, a tranquility that breathes new life for sure. Have a wonderful month of June :)

Beautiful, Jenny! Thank You so much for sharing. I hope you get to see a stream, soon. I love watching birds bathing in our garden, I hope your partner is able to fill up the birdbath for you, but streams are special, bustling along catching the light and laughing about it

It's been lovely sitting in the garden Di. Yes we do fill the birdbath and watch the birds bathing and drinking I would love to go out for a walk, but the coughing becomes too much while out, so I feel safer at home. I think I've got a touch of the hay fever, just to add to my problems. I noticed when I'm walking around the garden I have to wear a face mask, especially when my partner's cut the grass. You wouldn't believe how many strong smells aggravate my condition, then there's food cooking on neighbours barbecues, things that never bothered me before.

I've found the best time to sit in the garden is in the very early morning when there's nobody around apart from the birds and the air is fresher too. I'm so grateful and thankful to you for reading and letting me know you liked this poem.

Hi Lindy,

the one thing I'm so grateful for, is a wild imagination, where I can see and feel nature without actually being there. Then there's always inspiring youtube videos of nature, taking you where you need to be.

Didn't get much sleep last night with the coughing, but that's the way it seems to go, some nights are good and some are bad.

So good to have memories to bring these things to mind, and maybe think more about than when first experiencing them! Exactly right Rhiannon, having my memories, especially around the Yorkshire dales and also Cornwall and Devon...along with youtube, gives me so much food for thought.

When I find time to write, it's so relaxing and cheers me up. Lovely comments like yours and others gives me reason to keep writing.
