Symphony Of Emotions

When encountering sadness
violins that rain down like
a waterfall of tears cascading
in sympathy,
instinctively understanding
this essence from flutes
an expressive response
to sensitivity,
embracing concerns with
mixed moments so steadfast,
oboe born out of caring spirit
somewhat overwhelming,
wall of lamenting must come
down you brass section, hear
deep double bass in suspended
energy but not clenched like
winter's breath,
now smile at anticipated percussion
and woodwind...for they know drama,
a display of spring blossom embracing
flower scented dreams, reflecting nature's
sympathy of emotions.

What an interesting
What an interesting meditation on the effects of different instruments, and indicating how classical music can empathise with sadness, but also gently turn you to the brighter things that remain to enjoy. Rhiannon

This is so clever, Jenny, and
This is so clever, Jenny, and so evocative. I always find the oboe one of the most haunting instruments, something both reassuring and mysterious.
Very much enjoyed this.

I love the idea of violin
I love the idea of violin sound raining down, also the suspended energy of deep double base, made me think of a great big lazy brass bright lion :0)
You have given words to the qualities of these instruments' sounds like turning a crystal to give a familiar side a new dimension
Happy New Year to you and your family Jenny, and thankyou for all your wonderful poems which I enjoy so much!

Nice, nice, nice
I think the use of musical intruments to explain, or maybe represent, emotions was awesome. The words went very well together and I see why you got your gold cherries

HI Jenny
HI Jenny
This is a lovely poem, giving each instrument a job of conveying emotions. I do think music can calm you when you are upset, and uplift your spirits.
