Tibbs Out On The Tiles

Dear diary...When hearing
meow echo memories rise;
seeing adorable Tibby
captured in a snapshot
that conjures cherished
words...
should depictions deepen when
moving on? Treasure stored till
time for reaching out, releasing
persona sweeping down years;
study nurtured – not weathered.
I remember aroma of air that
welcomed Tibby home for food
and affection. Always the drifter
with soft pads and gestured
stalk, spurred on by stirring
next door's alluring brambles
that seemed to take on a life
of their own.
Adventure began nonchalantly;
leaping up on neighbour's tiles,
where clouds bring cool breezes;
roof's haven away from annoying
midges that bring nasty itches.
Spurred on by sudden movement;
waiting patiently; something
stirs in undergrowth only Tibbs
can see, her tail curls like
spiraling tendril clinging on the
vine...
as from tall grass a mouse at
breakneck speed runs off, but
Tibby doesn't move, knows from
past experience creature can't
be caught; observing fluttering
butterfly wings more interesting,
while swarm of bees exploring
nectar of trees.
Grass is soft and comfy, bed of
drowsy caressed gestures, where
whispered shadows soon swallow
up the day, bridging gap before
return of nightfall – then Tibby
returns home once more.
Photo is my own.

What a lovely memory, Jenny.
What a lovely memory, Jenny. This will strike a chord with all us cat lovers! Oh yes, that movement only they are privy to, and the way the tail curls. They all have their particular ways of moving and their routines. A very enjoyable read on this Sunday afternoon.

Tibby
Cats come and go but they're always loved and always remembered.
Your words tell me that Tibby was very much a loved cat and character.
Nice one Jenny.

Ah...we remember them all.
Ah...we remember them all. Quite poignant reading this on the 7th birthday of my beloved ginger toms - Travis & Perkins. A lovely read. Thanks for sharing the memory, Jenny.

have your cats neutered
If you have your cats neutered they don't roam around like that all the time. You should always have them fixed in any case wild (domestic) cats are a massive problem. Unless of course you breed to "show" cats.
I knew girls who showed persians the cats were lovely too, in modest gentle dignity.You can actually teach them tricks, but more of a dog person myself.
Hope you are well Jenny! Tom
